FROM LITTLE VALENTINES TO BIG SMILES
February may be a cold month, but at SECC our clients bring plenty of warmth and joy. This Valentine’s season, smiles were shared across generations — from our youngest participants in the Care for Newcomer Children (CNC) program, who brightened our halls by handing out candy and heartfelt Valentine’s notes to staff.
Our Adult Day Program (ADP) clients, also celebrated together at a festive Valentine’s party filled with laughter, connection, and community spirit. Moments like these remind us that kindness and connection truly make every season warmer.

SECC'S LANGUAGE CLASS ATTENDS FLYERS GAME
This month, SECC’s Language Classes stepped into a classic Canadian tradition as clients, their families, and teachers cheered on the Leamington Flyers at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre!
For many of our students, it was their first live hockey game - and it’s safe to say we now have a few new Canadian hockey fans in SECC’s language classes. Experiences like these go beyond the classroom, helping build connection, confidence, and a deeper sense of community.

NETWORKING AND BASKETBALL
SECC was proud to partner with the Windsor-Essex Chamber of Commerce for a dynamic networking event hosted courtside at a Windsor Express basketball game. Surrounded by the energy of live sport, attendees had the opportunity to connect with fellow community leaders while learning more about SECC’s wide range of programs and services.
From employment supports and settlement services to children, youth, and seniors programming, guests discovered meaningful ways to get involved and make a lasting impact in our region. |

PARTNERS MAKING AN IMPACT
A heartfelt thank you to Leamington United Mennonite Church (LUMC) for the incredible care they show to children in our community every single week.
Three days a week, LUMC prepares and serves meals to 450 students per day at Queen Elizabeth Public School. For many of these children, this is the only meal they will receive that day.
Many of these same students are also connected to SECC through our Junior Youth and After School Program hosted at LUMC - meaning this partnership reaches far beyond food. It provides stability, encouragement, and a safe space where children can learn, grow, and feel supported.
The need for children’s supports in our community is real - and it’s right here in our neighbourhoods. We are deeply grateful for partners like LUMC who step up in such practical and compassionate ways.
